Not to mention, Friendship Games is not the only canon work that contradicts, and is contradicted by Twilight Sparkle’s Science Fair Sparks.
 
Sci-Twi in the book’s summary is stated to be nervous to meet other kids from Crystal Prep.
 
Only Sci-Twi and other girls did make peace with the girls from Crystal Prep in Dance Magic, and went of in quite good relations, so it doesn’t make tha much sense Twilight is so nervous about this, that only the charming new Crystal Prep boy named Rising Star calms her down.
 
And Twilight Sparkle’s Science Fair Sparks also wouldn’t make sense, if it took place before Dance Magic - Twilight states in Dance Magic she “hadn’t heard much” about people from herold school, and attending “the first-ever Canter-Crys science fair organized by both Canterlot High and Crystal Prep Academy”, is kinda hearing much about her former school.
 

 

 
Yeah, this book’ even with just the summary, becomes more, and more impossible to fit in canon…

Well, seeing it’a a very blatant inconsistency, visible allready in the books summary, and Rsising Star was quite visible multiple times during Friendship Games, including the Group Shot of Shadowbolts:

So yes, as it’s a quite visible inconsistency. And really, the writer shown visible lack of doing research, or delibaterely ignored of previous continuity, in the name of seemingly quite cliche plot, that allready has people begining to flanderize Sci-Twi into a stereotypical hormone driven teen (ie like in this pic and comments). And the writers ignorance is allready visible in the book’s summary.
 
Will you really defend this books canonicty?

As I wrote “fun” is a relative concept .
 
Especially that while this is as of now largelly jokes, from what I saw, and researched, tons of stupid fanon, started this way – including (at least partly) Evil/Tyrant Celestia, or far more recently Starlight being a yandere for Sunburst, which I saw (d)evolving from a joke, to people thinking it is the case.
 
But for spoiling your fun - I guess I apologize… But you saw above my motivations for doing it…

But seriously, yeah I get you joke my annoucement is similar to the Half-Life 3 rumors and annoucements, and their ultimate pay-of and credibility , but to be fair, the Twilight Sparkle’s Science Fair Sparks does render itself non canon - as we known, animated works, are the “primary canon”, while other works are secondary canon. As primary canon (animation) oerrides secondary canon (other works), then the book Twilight Sparkle’s Science Fair Sparks pretty much renders itself noncanon, by contradicting a major Equestria Girls release (ie Friendship Games - the third movie).

Also guys, you may know it, but it really seems the very foundation of Twilight being boy crazy - is not canon, as the show directly contradicts My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Canterlot High Stories: Twilight Sparkle’s Science Fair Sparks very existence.
 
To be clear, Twilight Sparkle’s Science Fair Sparks explains that While Twilight Sparkle loves science, she’s nervous about seeing her old classmates again-that is, until she discovers that she’s been partnered with a charming new Crystal Prep boy named Rising Star.. What’s the problem with this? It directly states Rising Star is a new student, and and indirectly pretty much states Sci-Twi meets him for the first time, and Rising Star joined Crystal Prep in her absence. Only that Friendship Games directly shows Rising Star allready then being a student of Crystal Prep, and Sci-Twi even saw him at least once:

It is quite probable the writer just didn’t do research, but yeah, unless they animate it, this book is pretty much a payed fanfic.
 
But it’s impressive a books directly contradicts canon movies, and essentially renders itself noncanon within it’s summary.

“Funny”, is a relative, and subjective term - especially that is calling, and framing a female character, even for a joke, as a sex/boy crazy character, because she had two crushes, one of which might be magically forced, and based on book of dubious canonicity, isn’t to me at all that funny.
 
I don’t want to pull the what many would call the “feminist card”, but would such thing occur if Twlight was a male character, and Timber and Rising Star would be girls? As I think at least the joke would be far less popular.
 
(It also doesn’t help in the source most of the comments at least fall under slutt shaming. Yeah, I know, what source it is, but still.)
