Shading layer
Flat image
Erase flat image on top, pull shading layer off.
I’m not gonna believe you until you share this magitech. Science is about reproducibility.
Or, you could livestream, I can plop you some flat image I make, then you can brush over it and we can see this in real time, and if that makes a shaded layer I’ll believe.
I could believe Neural Nets have gotten this far. But I’d like to see proof before I do when it’s such an easy trick to fake it.

That may not be the way you did it (as you kept all the lighting effects for everything separate that you just masked or whatever), but the method I stated works for [literally any method of shading that starts with flats, no matter how intertwined and under/overlapping the layers are]
Where do you find it, I could use it.
brush with neural network
That brush is also pretty useful for animation.
Wow… What did you do? I’ve never seen a brush like that.
nope
step 2: copy and flatten that version to a new image/layer
step 3: go back to the fully shaded version and remove all the shading/lighting layers so you just have the flats
step 4: flatten those and put the flattened layer of the fully shaded version on top
step 5: start recording program
step 6: erase fully shaded version, showing the flat version underneath.
step 7: stop recording.

That would make sense, I was guessing that they somehow manipulated the layers, but I have minimal experience with these sorts of programs.
I really need to learn how to shade
@infinita est lux Solis
I’m guessing they put a layer above the shading layer and erased it or something
