Judging a book by its cover, huh? The fact that G5 has planned villains in it seems like a good sign in the right direction. Last time I checked, G3 didn’t have any. There was little to no conflict in G3.

They’re aiming to make G5 appeal to a bit of an older audience (even compared to G4), so I fail to see how we’re striding to G3 again.
