Considering Griffons are half lion (and lions eat zebras in real life), I’d figure it would make more sense if the griffons see the Zebras as something beneath them. They already seem to have that kind of attitude towards ponies (and even their own fellow griffons at times).

If both enslave Equestria simultaneously, I’d hazard both have shared control over the newly classified livestock and property. Compromise isn’t that hard, even for griffons (and fanon zebras, presumably, lel. ;3 )

Well this was the first griffon i drew in a long time, so i used Gilda as a reference; hence the similarities. Much like hoofs as i draw the character more then he’ll evolve into his own unique character. As for why griffons and zebras hate each other i have my own story/alt world for it. One of the comics I’m doing for a patreon reward is exploring this story and world too, as well as hoofs and prince swift claws rivalry. Its a story/idea I’ve been working on for awhile.

Prince Swift Claw is looking a little bit too similar to Gilda for my liking. Granted, it’s just a headshot but I actually thought it was her before looking at the description and tags.
 
But the picture is well made and I’m also glad to see that I’m not the only one that likes the idea of Griffons and Zebras being rivals with each other. The Book of Two Sisters had explained that Griffons don’t like rhyming but that book also had more rhyming Zebras besides Zecora.
 
So I’d like to think that there’s some sort of beef between the two races. Another person I talked to mentioned how maybe some magic spells could be songs or rhymes and that sort of thing too and that seemed like a pretty reasonable headcanon.
