I respect your opinion but what difference does it make that they are children? At 6 years old, I have the ability to be independent with my opinions. At 6 years old, I saw LGBT couples on TV and I didn’t care, I thought they were a couple, and my father used to be a bit homophobic (no longer) but that’s not It prevented me from having my opinions and they do not “wash your head” if the creator has the balls to remove an lgbt character, well he does, and that is not brainwashing as you say, you only are a character in the community that most gives? And if it is a series for children, what happens? all the people I know were already capable of thinking about their opinions at 5 years old, and if they bring out an LGBT character in me that is a Disney princess, IT IS NOT THAT THEY ARE WASHING THE HEADS OF THE CHILDREN, but what stupid but I can understand a little your point of view
I like gay stuff with boys too, but I watch this show to enjoy it for what it is, and I don’t try to selfishly and immorally inflict my personal, social and political agendas through it onto children, not to mention when people get really friggin’ delusional and aggressive about it. Selfish adults should keep their agendas out of children’s cartoons.
@MuttonBash
Take this guy for example, even went so far as to use the cliche “b-b-but everything is brainwashing!” defence.
Judging by your account, y’all seem pretty fine with gay stuff. I mean, as long as it’s lesbian :3
How is it brainwashing? And what isn’t considered brainwashing?
I disagree and that’s a typical flawed argument from people like you, the kind of people who start saying teaching people things in school is brainwashing whenever people disagree with their personal agenda. I would not be surprised if you only think this because you have a personal stake in this. I think thou doth protest too much.
Now I have nothing against homosexuals, I just don’t like brainwashing children and I think they should be introduced to these kind of topics when they are older, wiser and more capable of independent thought.
Your anger and insults just show how weak your stance is and how dictated by emotions, and possibly an agenda you are.
After some digging, i found one

Probably cause no one bothered to do so.

That’s called propaganda. Attempting to control the opinions and thoughts of others through messaging and information, in an attempt to promote a political or a social cause.
I consider this abusive and insidious. It is especially villainous to do it BECAUSE you think children can’t think for themselves, you are attempting to rob children of their right to choose. Remember, brainwashing is also child abuse.
I think we should keep our political and social agendas out of our children’s lives and let them make up their own minds. Attempting to manipulate children is absolutely monstrous.
I 100% disagree. You need to educate kids while they’re young. People find it perfectly acceptable to force religion on their kids, and bring them up with their own values, which almost always include rampant homophobia. With the world being as it is today, it’s now more important than ever to be showing the younger generations that being queer isn’t bad. You personally may have never grown up as gay or trans, and if that’s the case, you simply don’t understand how society really treats us. It ain’t pretty. Sorry that you see spreading positive messages of gayness as an agenda, because it’s really just wanting less hate and more acceptance. And I promise “toleration” isn’t the same, nor is it genuine.
That’s all I gotta say, I’m not engaging in a huge mess on derpibooru of all places. I wouldn’t bother replying, because I’m turning notifications off.
Yeah you are right, I should have been more specific, sorry I just tend to speak or write the first thing that comes out of my head and when I try to actually review what I write I usually sound kinda aggressive, I’ll take your advice and relax.
Your prompt was any other context on tv. Don’t go trying to shift the goal post. You also seem to be trying to find a way to get worked up. I did it as a trivia exercise, relax.
Are you seriously trying to compare a 80s show from UK to a cartoon from the 2010s set “probably and take it with a grain of salt” in the US? The moral standards were really different back in those days and also depends on the location. You could get away with a lot of things back in those days, an with even more depending the country.
@Evil Emperor Proteus
I can see that my previous comment might have sound like I was trying to “dictate” and maybe push my own views of the world to this ship, but I was just stating the way I see the world behaving, once again in modern times you won’t see two men holding hands, just walking and won’t think they are gay. I’m just saying that with all the scenes these two have appeared in, is really hard not to think they might be a couple you know what they say “If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck” and that “probably” is the most important part since I’m just saying they might be a couple. We all have the right to view the world as we see fit, but then again we all have the right to critic each other views on the world, I appreciate you replying to me, even if it was in a little hostile way since it means that you acknowledged my comment and it affected you in a way, as ol’ John Larkin once said “We see the same through many different colored eyes if I have hurt your feelings, I apologize” holy crap now this is a long comment, now I’m just probably rambling so I guess I’ll end it here.
You seem quite sure of yourself that you dictate all reality, society and human behaviour to all other Humans.
Here you go. Starting at about 6:37. Sherlock and Watson walking down the street arm-in-arm in the 1984 Sherlock Holmes series played as nothing but chummy.
Just my two cents.
On one hand, this isn’t a heavy handed push like in some cartoonscoughLoud HousecoughSteven Universecough, it’s just kinda in the background not doing anything.
But on the other hand, I, too, tire of something. I tire of people desperately latching onto this kind of stuff and trying to expand for their own selfish indulgences, or possibly as part of some kind of psychological longing to feel validated by society. What these people forget, is that this is a children’s cartoon, and we should leave it be just that and not spoil it for the children who make up the primary audience. This problem isn’t just limited to representation of homosexuals either, but other topics, which people latch onto and sometimes try to push out the target audience.
Take all of this as you will, I’m not for or against this kind of thing, but what I do take issue with is when people try to make more of it than it actually is. Just enjoy the cartoon about talking Ponies/Magical Rainbow People, folks, don’t corrupt something pure with our politics and social agendas.

So gay relationships existing normally means the world has reached a low standard? I get your point, make friendships are cool, but it’s fucking tiring seeing a million straight people trying to tear apart any hint of a gay relationship on tv, but when two straight people of the opposite sex stand next to each other, no one seems to have a problem with shipping it. It’s ridiculous.
Sorry grammer error

Well there not that many gay characters in fiction so there is no low standard
And it’s hard not to look at these two in these scenes and not see it in a romantic since
Actually yeah, tell me in what other context could two guys hold hands on television? don’t tell me that is because they are super friends, I’ve known a pretty good amount of bromances in my life and the only times two boys hold hands is because they are gay or they are playing gay just for the lulz, that’s just how friendship in males is.
