From what I remember they usually live until the second act or so, with their deaths typically announcing the climax is at hand since now the murderer is in the house.
Usually first to die is some schmo who is introduced just to be killed, with the creepy guy who tries to warn everyone next on the list.

Well the fact of the matter is that Spike is quite the looker and he’s totally available and Flutters and Pinkie most likely don’t act out on their urges often enough.
And it’s only AJ and Dash that mention having the hots for someone else.
