Yeah, Derpibooru always downscales the previews. You have to click to get the larger version, or click the view icon on the top bar to view the file directly. Helps with load times for larger images.

Apparently it is an artifact created by the scaling-to-view that gives viewers a different experience. Click the webm to get the full scale version before going fullscreen for all those crisp little details! :D
