That’s OK - it’s probably close to my long-winded diatribe.

Was Into Darkness the one with Benedict Cumberbund playing Sherlock Khan?
Â
Yes, TNG is best Trek, an immutable fact of the cosmos.
Â
But I’ll fight anyone who doesn’t think The Next Generation was the greatest series to the death.
“I am Starlight of Glim. Prepare to be upstaged.”

Â
<Starlight> Hmmm, this woman from a race that wants to assimilate everyone ends up becoming the second most important character of the show…I like where this is going… Â
<Twilight> (offscreen) What did you say? Â
<Starlight> Oh, nothing, nothing…
Â
Â
:)
That’s like the best concise summary if Vitager I’ve heard.
:P!
now i’m hearing sf debris’s crazy janeway voice coming out of glimmer.
“Ma’am the Spikelings are transmitting unintelligible verbal communications to us! How should we respond?” Â
“Activate the time travel spell and remove their entire race from history!” Â
“Are you sure that will be enough?” Â
“Then eject the warp core!” Â
“Right away Ma’am!”
she’d really identify with janeway.

Oh god what have I done?
I mean they weren’t constantly doing it. At least, not as often and blatantly as Discovery. Hell I’ll let the badass captain himself, Avery goddamned Brooks explain it for me.
So you mean never? The Star Trek franchise was founded on ham handed episodic metaphors for current political issues. Remember these assholes? Â
Â
I’m not even defending Discovery here, I don’t care for it either, but your statement makes no sense.
It made me nostalgic for Deep Space Nine. Back when the cast and crew of Star Trek were making characters that weren’t defined solely by their race, sex, or gender and weren’t shoving real-world politics in your face every waking moment.
True, if anything, Star Trek taught us hope.
Â
Discovery actually made me nostalgic for Enterprise. That makes me sad.
Â
Could be worse. She could like Discovery or… brrr… Enterprise.
Â
But maybe she’s a Kirk, Picard, Sisko kinda mare.
