Whenever the creative team or Hasbro feel like it.
In-universe, if the magic’s origins gets referenced, it’s a possibility that her Equestrian roots also get mentioned.
In all fairness, how often would it be relevant?
I look at her cutie mark, and think Celeatia picked her up to train her as her successor as Princess of the Sun.
Yeah I’ll admit my reply was more a continuation of the conversation before Scrounges comment.
The issue I have one of a perceived false equivalency. It’s ok if others don’t see it.
However as far who’s story came the closest to ending up like Twilight’s I believe Sunset was the closest to being the Princess of Friendship. And as such Sunset at the very least confront the past she left behind.
I find it very odd that after all this time not a single EQG character has said “Oh yeah you’re a pony too like Princess Twilight. I keep forgetting that.”
Sorry this got a bit ranty.
Yeah, but that’s not relevant to what was being compared. She didn’t do the whole Nightmare Moon thing and then immediately just move permanently back to where she was at the start of episode 1. Plus, Twilight kind of worships Celestia to a ridiculous extent so of course she’d want to spend lots of time with her as soon as possible.
Reminder that Sunset can go visit Equestria whenever.
Same concept yes, with the difference being that Twilight returned to Canterlot within the first year of living in Ponyville to attend the biggest social event of the year with the only goal of catching up with the Celestia.
Reminder that Sunset has been in the EQG Universe since before Twilight had her Entrance Exam at Celestia’s School.
It’s the same concept. If Twilight needs to do something in Canterlot she can just go do it then go back to Ponyville with her friends, same with Sunset.
You know you’re comparing a city to an entire planet, right?
I disagree.
Your ideas about her life before she went through the mirror are just as much guess as mine.
Additionally if you can’t understand the idea of not being able to leave the place of your birth I can’t help you. Some people have the opportunity of creating their own life somewhere else. But for many others, and even those that do, they still exist in the place their birth.
This world, this little planet we call earth is all we have. Regardless of beliefs of the capability of abandoning and creating a new life we as humans are incapable of removing ourselves from the earth. Unlike magical fictional characters.
We are all those born here, we all live here, we all die here. There is no school we go, no other dimension we travel to to learn to be better people. We live and learn here, on earth.
And a small side note, I am not one of the fans “obsessed” with this idea. Would I like the franchise to be better? Yes. But I still appreciate it for what it is, both the entertaining and the cringy.
Man, they need to calm the f down.
We don’t know much about her parents. It may be possible she is an orphan or she doesn’t care about them. And just because she loved there longer doesn’t mean she belongs there. If she’s content with her life and her location than she belongs where she is currently at. I dont understand this obsession with recalling where she was born. You’re not bound to your place of birth, you know. And while she’s from s place with magic she resides in a modern looking world complete with all the wonders of the 21st century and she so far seems to be fascinated by that but the biggest pull is her friendship with others.
@Josh103
She may have been gleeful but she was just as eager to leave as quickly as she arrived when she found out Twilight wasn’t there. Seems to md, based off what we see, that she likes magic but has little interest in Equestria.
Anyways, what is shocking to me is that people apparently think this is a yuge shock. This was pretty much where her character was heading. Even in the first movie she stayed behind and that’s at a time where the writers thought they were making one movie. Even her own character wasn’t really written to be a pony since her equestrian roots are only mentioned for the convenience of the plot.
Sunset Shimmer lived longer, had more experiences, had many opportunities, and had time to make many more memories in the world she was born in. She didn’t wander into Celestia’s school for no reason. She has parents who enrolled her. Parents who could very well still be alive.
Regardless of how much good she is and has done in this world her home is, was, and always will be Equestria.
You can’t be sure with those tweets. Probably something they’ve thought about but haven’t been able to address yet, like Sunset’s home (which they did later show).
I’m sure that translates to: “It’s been discussed but we can’t tell you because our NDA.”
Pretty sure she’s being cheeky.
Edited
You too small child.
Haha. That’s rich. Baseless accusations. Ahuh.
Have a good day little boi!
Hey, if you can pull stuff out of your butt to try and justify why your opinion is the right one, then it’s fair play.
I don’t see how that adds any substance. But sure whatever floats your boat. I already explained what I thought of that scene. Interpret both however you feel like.
I watched those animatics too, buddy. And that reason for her staying “until she solves the mystery” is pretty clearly just a cheeky excuse for her to stay with her friends instead of just saying “Oh, I changed my mind”.
