Which is why my logic for liking her design is “She’s orange, orange is a good color. The green eyes are also great”, right?
You’re an adult capable of rational thought, though. Children usually are not.
I like AJ’s design…
That’s..that’s the point. As a kid, I didn’t give two shits about ‘character’ (mainly as I mostly bought toys like generic dinosaurs, lizards, snakes, and Pokemon that had no personality, they just are) and I did so entirely based on looks and design. I didn’t get upset at the idea of having, say, three different Treecko plushies.
Likewise, just cause you like how a character acts, doesn’t mean they look super appealing. AJ is a big example, sure lots of people love her, but as a design, she’s far less interesting and appealing than even Rainbow dash, Roseluck, or Sunset Shimmer. Those three are colorful and varied. AJ is pretty plain. When it comes to toys like this, the ‘character’ and personality matter only to the people who sit them on shelves.
Hasbro ALWAYS does that with G4 MLP, and other companies for that matter. I like Rainbow Dash but I don’t need 500 versions of her. I liked the beginning of G4 when Hasbro made new brushable characters, but that quickly stopped and now we’re lucky to see one new character every several months. The same applies to all the dolls too.
Oh lol I didn’t realize. I don’t really take names on here unless it’s troublemakers like that awful Duck poster.
Er… wasn’t the Sonata thing mentioned earlier in this comment thread & the reason I commented here?
Hasbro seems to be missing the point a whole lot when it comes to EqG figures for some reason.
What bothers me the most is that they just keep re-releasing the same characters over and over. If they’re going to do that, I’d at least like them to re-release the original Mane 6 with stands. Maybe fix Twilight’s hair while they’re at it so it’s not flowing all over for no reason.
Oh, also, I read that Sonata was going to have a Mini, but it was cancelled and the prototype they had for her hair was used for sleepover Twilight. Take a look at her Mini and see the similarities.
Well I didn’t wonder why she got a mini due to the existence of the previous doll, but I did wonder why she got one & Lyra didn’t.
Why does Hasbro want the Minis to be so full of incomplete teams?
Dang figure sales figures.
Someone ought to start a petition or somethin’.
Hasbro is using sales numbers of previous products to tell them what characters to make Minis of. Adagio’s doll sold well, so she got a Mini. Aria and Sonata’s didn’t, so they don’t get a Mini. Didn’t you wonder why Roseluck got a Mini? Because her doll was popular…
Seriously?
Wow, they sure missed out on a number one seller, Sonata’d be harder to get a hold of than Trixie is what I’d guess.
Yes, you are correct, this mini has arm defective
Compare both hands
Yes, that bothers me in fact that’s why Sunset has its designs very careful, the sunset Mini that will come out in December has even metallic gold details will surely be exhausted in hours. This line of December looks more childish than the previous ones and that worries me because Hasbro may start making Minis less and less detailed.
I hate it when they make their decisions on a completely mechanical “market research” basis which focuses only on the sales of previous toy lines. Like how the 2000 He-Man line didn’t have any girls because they sold poorly in the 80’s. Roseluck only got a Mini because of how popular her doll was, which also suggests that children were buying the dolls based on how they looked, not who they were.
Do children actually buy the same character 25 times because they’re in a new outfit?
That’s true, if you notice even the boots are less detailed than in other models, as for the Dazzling I think they only took out Adagio because it was the most sold, I talk with a toy designer and told me that the Twilight of sleepover was probably a recycling of another prototype not produced in mass but in a very advanced state of its design, we realized that it fit perfectly in what would be the character of Sonata Dusk, probably Hasbro did not want to risk a failure as in his merchandise of Rainbow Rocks.
