Bullshit. MLP doesn’t even have a story, it simply has continuity and a changing status quo. Steven Universe has a story, and every episode adds to that story, even if it doesn’t directly progress it.

Well, not so much. If a show is serialized strongly enough to have what qualify as “filler episodes”, it’s not really an “episodic” series. Shows can certainly drift in one direction or another; “Adventure Time” started out highly episodic and developed into one of the most serialized cartoons of today.

Technically the vast majority of episodes could be considered “filler” if you only count the 2 parters and episodes relating to them as “not filler”.

steven universe is an example. 90 percent of the time the episdoes are good and reveal somethign, but sometimes they jut have one that seems uninvolved with what is goin on
