That was extremely helpful, I tell ya. Never thought of Willpower like this, I always thought of it as something that helps, but not in a way you described it. I think I’ll quote ya, this is some good writing inspiration for my stories!

Yes. The greatest super power in all of fiction is Will power: It’s what powers a Green Lantern’s Power Ring, it’s what allows Jedi to use the Force, Characters in JoJo to use their Stands, and basically every Anime character ever. Strong emotion feeds the power a character has. You may have great power but if you have no Will power and are a total coward, it’s about as useful as a wet fart.
 
Rockhoof’s determination to save his village and not give up awakened the magic in him and his shovel to achieve it, gaining a He-Man sort of transformation. It was Luna’s jealousy of Celestia and resent for ponies who shunned her that transformed her into Nightmare Moon.
 
IRL, emotions are what fuel our actions and decisions in crisis situations. Fear fuels our instinct to run for safety and courage moves us to save others.
 
Magic, if it were real, is not something that could quantified by science. In Equestria, emotions are actual metaphysical forces that influence magic and not mere chemical reactions in our brains.

I look back to this and think of who the pillars are.  
And I remind myself… “Magic is so weird”
 
With, like, determination, wish, and sheer will a rockhoof gain muscle from skinny physic?  
That stands out to me the most. It makes me think of Nightmare Moon too…
 
Can certain mystical powers and curses be born from such STRONG emotions..?

That can be fixed with plastic surgery.  
But I’m sure she is well aware of the risk of magic surgery after seeing what it did to her friend.

…Mistmane’s hands and arms don’t have wrinkles. Why do I get the feeling that she only sacrificed her face beauty but under her clothes, the rest of her body is still hot and sexy AF.
