I recently heard of a headcanon in which the pony Earth does orbit the sun, but Celestia is the one who makes it spin around it. without her, it’d become tidally locked.

Celestia: Lyra…do you know what happened to the last pony who thought such things?
 
Lyra: Uh…no, Princess. What?
 
Celestia: Lets just say…she’s the “glue” holding my coffee table together now…
