I knew two women once who were co-habitants and “life partners” who were both straight and married (but divorced). You don’t have to be married and having sex to live together; at this point, any implications of sex - and thus incest - would have to be a fan interpretation, and they could pull off two biological aunts fine.

Depends on if they both have a notable biological relationship to Scootaloo. As only one does - I believe Holiday is related to Scootaloo’s dad - while the other is not specified, it’s up in the air until it’s clear whether the one is or not.

Eh, I can live with it, so long as there’s one thing cleared up. If they’re both Scootaloo’s aunts, even if it’s from different sides of the family, does that makes them “kissing cousins”?

Even if they didn’t, I like the designs. I’ll happily accept these until we get a more “official” version, if that ever happens.
 
Also, is it odd that I want “Auntie Lofty” to have a full name like Lofty Heights? Because I’m already imagining a backstory for her, and half the fun is building from the name.

Oddly enough, Holiday actually is an earth pony; the relevant page isn’t uploaded here, but it’s the oldest comment under >>1558253. Whether that means Scootaloo and her dad are of different pony races, or Holiday and her brother are, I don’t know, but either option is interesting. (Though, if I were a betting man, I’d bet that Scootaloo’s dad is an earth pony, like his sister, while Scootaloo’s mother is a pegasus.)

Let me get this straight. Lofty is a Pegasus. Is Holiday really an earth Pony?  
Lofty is supposed to be Scoot’s biological aunt, a sibling of her dad. If this is what she looks like. I wonder what her dad would look like?

It’s fan art, but given how much work PixelKitties has done for licensees and for the cast and crew of the show, it’s not completely inconceivable that Hasbro and/or DHX may find a way to make these the official designs.

Nicole Dubuc who co-wrote this with Mike Vogle. Its very likely to be canon as some of Barrows stuff became canon after she started on the show IIRC.

Very nice, the fandom’s working quickly with these new characters.
