So I guess I won’t go to the theatre to see the movie, since that may be a bit too
awkward for me. Sigh. Still, have fun in my stead folks! and hey, at least there’s new episode this weekend, and what a episode it was!
I don’t think I have to write much, but yeah I loved that episode (as certain eye-rolling motherbucker probably predicted already )
It was great episode. Each of Twilight’s family member had some fun moments, I especially enjoyed Twilight Velvet’s
fixation over some extreme sports activities as well as Flurry Hearts little “play time” with her peers, it
was quite amusing especially Cadence’s glare when she retreated with her at the end of the scene. As for Star Tracker? one weird little
fellow, I know he comes off as creepy, but I guess that was implied he’s simply shy and awkward especially
in presence of Twilight and her family. That was cute. Still bit creepy. Also intriguing was to see how the whole situation blew in Twilight’s face. Her outburst felt believable, given all the stuff she decided to go along with - and it was heart aching sight too. but
also quite true: to be happy you must be at least a little bit selfish. There’s nothing wrong with that. Also, holy hot damn, guess who’s back in his muscle-flexing glory! Iron Will! it’s been a while. Long while. Since season 2 actually. It took me by surprise and just added to overall fun factor. As with best MLP episodes it was great mix of humour, drama and fun interactions between the characters. So overall, fantastic episode, one of many this season, and yet so great. That makes it 4th Twilight episode this season, and it’s really nice how entertaining each one of them was. Heck, there’s plenty of good stuff happening this season overall.

Well to me “Fame and Misfortune” was really fun and refreshing episode - I really like that playful jab at fandom, but also it was really cool showcase of the Mane 6 and how they reacted to the nonsense happening around them. It was kind of a splash of a cold water that some more entitled fandom members deserve. Or at least I felt like it’s an episode I needed to see - something saying “you know what guys? have your drama, we will keep doing our thing” from the perspective of someone who creates content of one sort or the other, I can relate to that notion. I assume “A Royal Problem” and “To Change a Changleing” are higher on your list? well, to me those are entertaining episodes to a degree but little in terms of investment in the story and characters, I guess. I was never big on royal sisters or starlight. Although Changelings ( all of them actrually ) had some fun moments and stole the show in the latter.
I don’t think “All Bottled Up” is bad but I simply don’t care for interactions between Starlight and Trixie - last time I watched it, it just hit me how much I didn’t cared for their dynamic. It’s just doesn’t work for me. I still have mixed feelings about Trixie’s “redemption” as well as I think Starlight works best in small doses rather than focus of an episode. Even in episode “Hard to say anything” (which had more things that I found annoying) I at least cared for Big Mac’s success in winning Sugar Belle’s heart. Story was flawed but entertaining enough for me to care what happens in contrary to Starlight’s dilemma. I guess that’s my reasoning. This season doesn’t have any episodes I geniuenly hate, it’s just matter of me being invested in story and characters it includes ;)
