Rumble may need some advices from Cozy Glow then.

Only B.J. Blazkowicz can stop him now.
Heh. Now there’s an episode for you.
Name checks out.
Meadowbrook didn’t make the Staff Of Sameness. Starlight said it herself, the staff was just a piece of wood she found, with no magical properties at all.
Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if they retconned “Meadowbrook’s eight enchanted items” into “Mistmane’s eight enchanted items” at some point, seeing how Twilight referred to eastern unicorns when talking about her. Meadowbrook was neither eastern nor a unicorn, Mistmane on the other hand was both.
She literally can’t give other people the ‘medicine’ if she took it herself.
This conversation would be a lot less stupid if she was using her strong magic for anything else besides the cutie mark spell.
Instead, this conversation is always going to be neverending and pointless.
Yeah, that’s what they always say when it comes time to take their own medicine.
In a less wordy way of saying it, starlight only had and kept a cutie mark out of practicality. She fully believed in her ideology, but literally couldn’t make it a reality while having the same limiter. There was no alternative.
The physiology of Ponies will always doom such endeavors.
It’s futile
Yes, both of them wanted to free ponies from the supposed tyranny of cutie marks, but the source of the tyranny (and thus the reasoning behind their actions) couldn’t be more different for Starlight and Rumble. Starlight believed cutie marks gave ponies unfair advantages over each other that would ultimately tear them apart; her solution was to lock her followers in “equality” by forcibly removing their cutie marks. Rumble, on the other hand, believed a cutie mark would limit a pony to doing one specific thing for the rest of their life. In other words, Starlight’s fear of cutie marks comes from the strengths they bestow whereas Rumble’s fear of them stems from the limitations they place.
Also, what do you mean Starlight never cared for equality? the show has made it very apparent that Starlight had convinced herself that she was genuinely doing the right thing with the establishment of Our Town. After all, the whole reason behind the time travel fiasco in the season 5 finale was because Starlight was furious at Twilight for “ruining” something she had cared deeply about.

How is that the opposite? Locking ponies into doing one thing and being different from each other are just different concepts altogether. Starlight wanted to free ponies from the tyranny of cutie marks. That sounds like what Rumble wants. Of course the end result is a kind of equality but that technicality is not as important for him as for her it seems. At least according to what they say. In reality Glimmer might have never cared for equality and Rumble would desire it because he didn’t have a cutie mark and therefor felt less than others. Rumble is actually a better match for Starlights ideology than Starlight herself.
