@AaronMk She doesn’t need it for balance while on the ground, but losing that much weight off her back end can mess up her flight balance.

A shaved tail isn’t going to break up laminar air flow as well as a short tail, probably increasing the production of trailing vortices. Having slotted tips at your trailing edge will help reduce drag.

Pretty sure a horses tail is more for beating flies than balance. They’re not going to be in trees and they’re not as nimbly built as monkeys or felines.

Here is a mare on her fantastic antic.  
Shaved the rainbow because ‘aerodynamic’.  
From head to hooves, she lost her groove.  
trauma has halted her ability to move.  
Dashie’s now bald, anger cannot hold.
