As these past few Legends of Magic based episodes have shown, you don’t need to read the comic series to understand who these characters are. The episodes already include all the necessary background and information. The comic series is just for further enrichment if you’re interested in seeing more of these legendary characters in action.

I don’t know about Shadowlock himself, but with the title of the finale, the short blurb we got about Twilight fighting the Pony of Shadows, and the tie-ins with comics this season (Legends of Magic & #51-53), it’s extremely likely that at the very least Shadowlock’s malevolent ancestor will show up.

Ok, cattail was FIRST shown in the mlp comics. Soooooo, if he was first met in there, then shown in the episode showing that they already know him, what does that say about shadow lock? Hm????? And don’t go saying the comics aren’t “cannon”. We were told that the comics will have ties to season 7 already!
