Glad they didn’t force Pharynx to embrace flowers and “Feeling circles”. But accepted him the way he is in the end after learning Pharynx really actually cares about the hive as much as any changeling else.
 
I would wager that much of Pharynx’s angst towards Thorax’s rule has to do with how the other Chagedlings tried to coerce Pharynx into embracing values he doesn’t believe in.  
Though they did not mention it. I like how they boldly portrayed the snarkiness, hypersensitive, and hypocritically intolerant dark side of the “Feelings Circles” that contributed to the issue. I believe Thorax was able to see that.
 
Pharynx is still himself despite the aesthetically appearance that is more the consequence of Changeling biology than anything. Just accepted by his hive mates.

That was the point of the episode,in the end Pharynx had a point,Thorax understood he have to moderate his approach of governing the hive to not let it become a defenseless hippie community.The transformation was to show he went from dumb brute to ,let’s say,a tough jock who understand the necessity of defending the hive

And in the end, they conceded that maybe they needed strength and protection. Doesn’t seem like he changed that much. He is in a slightly literal way, a better version of himself.

Still disappointing, but at least he’s not as horribly colored as the rest of them.
 
…It’s terrible that the most praise I’m able to muster for this show 90% of the time is, “Well, it could be worse.”

I haven’t seen the episode, so I think I just got spoiled. Darn.

He still didn’t have to change appearance. Plus, the other changelings were so sugary-sweet it was hard for me not to hate them.

That WAS his old job. Of course he will keep it. The moral of the episode was that even peaceful non-aggressive nations need good defenses.

Hate that he turned, but at least teh colors make him look decent.

The point was that he changed because everyone accepted him for his gifts and he allowed himself to receive love and acceptance from others. It seems to be an automatic process.

Somehow i think that what he’s supposed to be since he spent the episode reminding the hippies of his hive that they maybe shouldnt let their guard down at all time
