Not only are most of your statements incredibly subjective, as if the fact YOU can write about differences YOU see should count for EVERYBODY so long as YOU can write a dissertation on it…
 
…if everything about the “this only applies to S6 and beyond Starlight when comparing to Twilight”, is not going to factor in your response no matter how many times I repeat it…..this conversation is going to go nowhere fast. I see where this is leading and its simply unnecessary drama.

don’t really agree with any of your points. Twilight wouldn’t isolate herself from society and start a cult because her first friend abandoned her, Twilight wouldn’t self-loath herself, Twilight was never irresponsible as her, she wouldn’t skip dinner with princess without telling it, I mean she has literal lists of this kind of schedule thing. Twilight wouldn’t missing the point of Hearth’s warming eve and cynical about it, Twilight did mindcontrol ponies but at the end, she acknowledged her fault unlike Starlight, because she never lacked social norm as her, she wouldn’t bottling her emotions, she was never cluelessly blunt as Starlight, Twilight never had that moment of hesitation for revealing her interests to other ponies, Twilight would talking about her feelings to her friends rather than trying to understand each other without unnecessary words, Twilight wouldn’t just snap Ponks cowbell and walk away from her, that’s Starlight’s own impatientness and recklessness, a soft one.  
Past tense? their worldview and mindset, morality are still significantly different. she obviously still maintaining “every pony gets what they want, everybody wins” mindset, she isn’t biased towards to princesses or wonderbolts, she has that neutral worldview. and today’s episode highlighted their difference as well. with Twilight’s worldview, she would never consider Pharynx as a lost cause. experiences form indivisuals worldview and personality. and their experiences have been different. Starlight has been exposed to Twilight’s worldview for awhile since she’s Twilight’s student but she maintained her old one and reforged, improved into right one, and her own one. that peptalk scene was living proof of that.  
of course, It’s a moot point. you can interpret this joke scene in various ways. you’re taking it way too literally though. Starlight is nothing but Twilight clone argument is just fundamentally broken when you able to write a dissertation about their differences.

Their worldview WAS completely different. Past tense. Heck, most fans would age range S5 Starlight in her late 20s (what with her persona and occupation as communist cult leader), yet in S6, she has the same naive and needy personality as our young Twilight, only slightly more attitude then her half the time, and they even brought Starlight into a high school and mall in the EG 3 special to fit in as a teenager. The former adult cult leader. Seriously, its like they don’t even try to pin down an identity for her.

That argument is more subjective then most. Anyone can claim to ‘really know the character at their core’ while still being completely off track for the creator’s intention.

Its a moot point anyway, the episode already decided to encourage Ember’s point with their identical reactions instead of taking the opposite route like YOU would have, so we already have a ballpark about how the actual writers feel about Starlight. (shrug)

meh, I disagree. Is Twilight emotinal or twisted, fragile as Starlight back then? and their only strong contrast isn’t just their relationship with Trixie. their worldview is compeltely different. that’s what make their personalities fun to me, just like Ember they look similar when you don’t know about them much, but when you know about’em they’re so different at the core. calling Starlight Twilight clone feels like mindless argument to me.

Problem is Reformed Starlight is not the sum of her parts or experiances.
 
She started off S6 with a personality almost identical to Twilight’s in every way, and she’s only half the time a tiny bit more sarcastic and more or less grounded once trixie entered her life.
 
And, as we’ve pointed out, the show affirms Ember’s point with their identical reactions instead of denying it, even if it’s not 100% of the time.
 
In other words, their differences are paper thin and the show has just demonstrated with meta humor that they’re self aware of that. Reformed Starlight is a clone of twilight with only slight aberrations. Their only really strong contrast is their relationship with Trixie, and that’s hardly worth creating a clone character like S6 starlight.

I agree. those traits make up their personalities, but not their entire personalities. their similarities end there, their point of view, moral, personalities are extremely different due to their experience. DWK already ponited out this, when Discord making a embarassing shitty joke, Twilight rolls her eyes when Starlight’s giggling at it. or more obvious one like their relationship with Trixie. I think Starlight shares those Twilight’s traits because she’s counterpart of her, or I’d say she’s an antithese of Twilight. contrasts between them it’s pretty interesting imo.

When Amy Rose can’t identify the real Sonic, the smaller comparisons between the two characters have already been stated to death in the series and nothing of Amy’s mistake is justified.
 
When Ember lays it out there that being with Reformed Starlight felt almost no different then being with Twilight, its the first time in the show someone has had the cajones to state the obvious about New Twilight and Original Recipe Twilight. Not that their aren’t differences, but their similarities are endless and even their names are more or less synonyms.
 
Having the two prove Ember’s point with their identical reactions only seconds later isn’t embarrassing, its meta humor and hilarious.
 
It isn’t a full Amy Rose if the show justifies her confusion. The Amy Rose comparison is fundamentally flawed.
 
The only thing ‘embarrassing’ about it is that its the type of self-aware meta humor that the show can never fix, post S5 Starlight was always going to be seen by many as a partial clone of Twilight, not just one of Twilight’s counterparts.
