I haven’t but oh my god that scenario is perfect for them.

they didn’t realize they were both on the same side, daring wouldn’t believe it, and he was too proud to admit it. he was up to his old mafia gang petty bullshit again, but there was an even greater evil that he was trying to stop, so there’d be something left to steal. over time, his pride was broken and he was forced to reach out to her again and again, because of the escalating threat of this shared evil. she never bought his act, and in the end when he tried to give her vital information or a treasured artifact that was the key to stopping this thing, she didn’t trust him. if anyone’s seen that new star trek discovery series, that’s about how well things are going right now.

Well alright. It’s been a long time, but I did have an alternate set of text. The original text was supposed to be based off a personal headcanon of mine of how they met long before the books. If memory serves to purpose, it was around the lines of “Non of use would be in this situation if you would have listened all those years ago!”
 
It was cut due to length and time, so that’s how I got the text for today. I’m guessing something happened where they both had some sort of revelation of what they were doing and how their fighting these past years hasn’t been worth it. Daring, having the struggle of keeping herself hidden away from the world, and Caballeron’s main way of doing something to make a living is illegal.
