God, I WISH Mass Effect was still cult. It went mainstream a long time ago, and for the worse.
 
But while not hearing about Mass Effect (video gamings Star Trek to Halo’s Star Wars) is shocking, not knowing what MST3K is a God damn crime!

I’ve perhaps read the name in passing – as you said, if it’s prevalent, you’re virtually bound to see it in some form – but as for what Mass Effect is, I had to Google it. Only been around since 2007, so…I dunno, maybe I’m too old for it? Then again, we are on a Pone site, so I have no excuse, other than being a reclusive engineer. lol
 
Hell, I’m into MST3k, and I still meet people who’ve never heard of it. Spaceballs (or rather ALL of Mel Brooks’ films), Monty Python, etc., all have similar cult followings.

… I’m having a really hard time believing you’ve never at least heard of it, considering it’s been the epicenter of a number of huge controversies on the Internet. It’s one of those franchises that people just accidentally come into contact with due to sheer prevalence.
