Very true, I remember back during the Season 3 era, back during the drama over the (then) first upcoming Equestria Girls movie, I said maybe we should give it a chance… I practically got lynched. lol  
I also got crap for liking Jay Fosgitt’s controversial comic art, and other things too. I hate it when large amounts of fans here try to enforce one opinion about the series as “fact,” and that we all should all follow it.
 
Ironically, anti-Twilicorn fans attacked me, even though while I didn’t hate Twilicorn, I actually felt it needed more development, and foreshadowing, and should’ve happened at a later time/season. So I wasn’t 100% for it either like some assumed.

That’s just what the fan hordes tried to do. And unfortunately, we do have quite a number of those types of overzealous fans on here who do that.

Yeah, as annoying as those who are butthurt over this episode are.  
I can guess that their frustration stems from how this kind of disconnecting ivory tower or Block Bot behavior especially by politicians, celebrities and SJWs sends a bad message to the kids. Ignoring the problem and hoping it goes away. All while being smug to the concerned masses.
 
Granted, the angry mob in this case were in the wrong themselves. Most of them are getting worked up over nothing. And I think it is a well deserved jab at those notoriously vocal entitled and impossible to satisfy demographics who plague any large groups and give said groups bad names.
