For a specific example there is Macgyver the Lizard (a red tegu), whose antics have made him a star on Youtube. Course it should be noted most lizards don’t act like him, and his owners have worked very hard and provided quite a special home environment that most people probably couldn’t replicate, but its certainly gotten results.
I’ve seen a video of a lizard wagging its tail at its owner like a dog, and another of a lizard wanting to be picked up and cuddled after bathtime.
So you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
Depends on what you’re looking for in a pet. They may not display affection like that, but they can become surprisingly tame and attentive toward their owners.
