Seems a little odd that the Equestria Girls version of Twilight Sparkle would have wings while Sunset Shimmer doesn’t, huh? I never really thought of it that much, but a lot of people seem bothered by this. So, I did some thinking.
Well, in the first Equestria Girls movie, it’s implied that the human counterparts channel the power of their pony counterparts whenever they ‘pony up’. That’s why Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash get wings while the other girls don’t, and horns would just look weird on a human. Human Twilight channels Princess Twilight’s power. Princess Twilight has wings, ergo, Human Twilight gets wings. Frankly, I think it would be more confusing if she DIDN’T get wings.
While you can make a case for Sunset Shimmer deserving those wings, they wouldn’t carry the same symbolic weight as they do in Equestria. In the human world, there is no triad of unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies, and there are no alicorns. There are only those with magic and those without. Human Twilight having wings doesn’t mean anything beyond her being linked to her pony counterpart.

Oh, I just figured it out!
 
This is the human world; Sci-Twi had access to the internet, but human Twilight didn’t. Therefore, it’s possible she took interest in dance videos (or got Dance Central for the Kinect) and practiced during her free time.

Hell’s bells… that might be why all that Equestrian magic is leaking through too. Bad things happen when the world’s become too interconnected.
 
Celestia really could have done a better job explaining that to Twilight.
 
(Though personally I think it’s pretty clear that it’s SciTwi’s fault, for forceably tearing open the barriers between the worlds)

The comics actually support this theory. They also note that the more you visit, and the more invested you are in a parallel dimension, the more that starts to mirror your own.

Considering them alternate dimensions might not be the entire story, they tend to lean more towards being parallel dimensions, and so, since Twilight is mostly parallel… :j

At this point, my theory is that the two universes adjust to match each other. So when pony Twilight crosses to humanland, she becomes a teenager, and when human Twilight gains Equestrian magic, she gains wings to maintain symmetry. I’m not sure how much sense that makes, but honestly, Equestria Girls was never about coherent lore/backstory.
 
Sure is bizarre that this Twilight can actually dance, though. Makes me wonder how much video editing was involved.

Why is this webm? Webm is known to slow my old as fuck laptop.
 
I haven’t been able to find an announcement about it, but apparently the site accepts WebM uploads now, and some people are going nuts reuploading old stuff as well as new stuff in it.
 
The problem I have with it is it’s not as universally compatible as gifs are.
