Walking stick? that looks to be storm king’s staff. you can faintly see the stick fork at the top when it tips a little during the hug.
IMO that’s near the end of the movie after twilight beats the storm king in some fashion.

I don’t think the two scenes are related.

Two scenes, presumably relatively close together. Twilight using a walking stick to rejoin the other mane characters after some athletic event like the Pirates of the Caribbean windmill scene (which was a waterwheel in the actual Pirates of the Caribbean, but whatever), then them all taking a balloon to Lothlorien. Not completely convinced that tower is related to the sea ponies, but eh. ^w^
