I like the idea of the “undercroft” being part of a Victorian dress.
The escape hatch thing reminds me of hearing one of the Mercury astronauts saying how the Mercury capsules were less like a vehicle you got into, and more like a huge suit you were bolted into. “Mechanical suits” weren’t a thing at the time, bit that is more or less what he meant.
Damn, now I kinda want to make a Mercury Capsule + Victorian dress mashup.
