The Polish dub aired a month-ish before the English original. Which is July 8th. The Polish version is probably still someplace on YouTube and Dailymotion. :3

Well of course, the question of whether she had a counterpart didn’t matter because she was never meant to appear again anyway if I recall.
They mentioned it in the manner of “We originally intended for her to officially be unique.” Not just idle speculation, but their original intention that was to be part of the plot.
Of course they can change this at any time, but it would explain why there’s no need to worry about it.

Sunset’s EqG counterpart has no relevance to the EqG story so far, so she’s not appearing.
From a meta-standpoint, she doesn’t have a counterpart because she’s an original character made for Equestria Girls. At least, she was chosen for that role.
Not absolute but it’s very likely seeing as we haven’t heard one peep about it. In contrast Sci-Twi was mentioned in the first movie.
Mentioning the idea does not mean it’s absolute.
It’s good because they don’t have to worry about two similar characters in the spotlight. Just like how Sci-Twi was picked over pony twi they have a convenient way of someone taking the visitor slot and having glimmer on-board.

There likely isn’t one. In the commentary for one of the movies they mentioned the idea of her being unique, with no EQG counterpart. Seems this is setting up Glimmers as being the same.
Just like EQG world Twilight not appearing until a sneak peek at very end of 2nd movie,
the writers seem to only introduce EQG counterparts if or when it’s convenient.
