Spike’s maturity level has always been hard to gauge. Sometimes he acts like a jealous little kid (“Owl’s Well That End’s Well”), sometimes he goes overboard trying to act like an adult (“Spike at Your Service”), and sometimes he shows some genuine thoughtfulness (“Simple Ways”). He was definitely the responsible one in “Amending Fences”, thankfully.

I have to ask… why do you think that it would in the first place? He was more than happy to give her the present he meant to give her years ago. I don’t see how having a crush on one person means forgoing your friendship with another.

I like to think that Spike’s crush on Rarity hasn’t led him to forget his earlier feelings toward Moondancer. He’s a big enough guy not to let his passions get in the way of his friendships.
