As demonstrated.
Actually, Celestia isn’t dream walking in the FIENDship Is Magic comic because Nightmare Moon, despite being banished to the moon, actually enters Celestia’s mind with the same power as her split personality/doppelgänger/evil alter ago has. Friends Forever #38 is the only comic which features Celestia using the same power of dream-walking as her sister and would use that same power sometime after Luna’s loss and Nightmare Moon’s exile. This comic does ignore Luna’s dialogue in the Season 5 episode “Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?” about Celestia not having the same power to enter ponies’ dreams as Luna which means that this comic could not be canon. But when Celestia and Luna have their cutie marks and aura colors swapped temporarily in the Season 7 episode “A Royal Problem”, Celestia finally does have the same power as Luna’s.
So this mean that this comic ignores Luna’s dialogue about Celestia not having the same dreamscape power as her meaning that this comic could not be canon to the show.
It wasn’t just Luna that was banished. It was Nightmare Moon. Celestia ended sending the one she loved in life alongside the evil that possessed and manifest Luna to the moon.
Yeah, Reflections was kinda shit.
So literally her booty calls end universes.
Actually, the whole Reflections debacle can be explained with a simple bit of headcanon; Celestia went cold turkey for centuries, and her biological clock literally overwhelmed her.
But yeah, these are not comparable situations. Ones just sisterly rivalry, the other actually put Ponies lives at risk.
It kinda is. It’s the entire point of creating new content instead of airing reruns/reprints.
I kinda disagree that power always corrupts personally, it’s your personality, and personal choices, that corrupt you.
Thank you c:
It is possible that. Luna could grant her power to her sister for some time.
She’s not.
Characters like Q and Discord are assholes because they’re almost omnipotent. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and all that. Celestia and Luna in the comics are just immature. Remember when Celestia nearly destroyed two worlds because of a crush? I can’t help but think that if one lived for over a thousand years one would be wise enough to think twice before doing something stupid or at least outgrow their teenage phase.
@cheezedoodle
Seldom. It’s a problem with the show but should not be taken as an excuse to make up whatever for an official work.
How often, in the show, do we see them alone with each other in a casual situation, and not when world-threatening events are going on?
If others are around, yeah, they’re always on their best behavior.
Edited
This is a fairly common trope though.
The whole “Immortals acting like teenagers/kids to stay sane or because they’re insane” thing. Q, the Doctor, Discord, etc.
But why would Celestia need to be awake to do it?
I’m guessing Luna invited Celestia to her Dream Stream.
@kleptomage
They’re far more petty in the comics.
Perhaps, but they did show similar personality, and sisterly “bickering” in “Slice of Life” actually. I like to think there’s more sides to them then the cartoon/comic show us.
Edited
“Continuity hiccup” is a euphemistic way to put it.
Luna and Celestia show more emotion in the comics than they do on the show in that they act like teenagers and not millennia old royalty. It’s not necessarily bad but Luna and Celestia in the comics are not the same characters as Celestia and Luna on the show.
It kind of has me imagining something like >>1339629
