We don’t know if they got nuked or how hard it was. Overall, anywhere besides the main cold war powers are unknown but it’s probable that they got hit directly because, as @AaronMk, said, “it’s very possible that the intensity of the conflict very likely yanked in other players as proxies or allies of either party,” which is what happened irl. If you weren’t a major power, you were “with us or against us”

Other countries might not have had the megaspells originally, but it would be easy for the major powers to share some of theirs with their allies. We gave some to our allies in Europe and the USSR gave some to Cuba.

The megaspells were designed to be mass healing spells, not nukes. The Zebras turned them into nukes and the Equestrians responded.

also it is best to keep in mind that in the fallout games south america ,africa, and australia , never get nuked too hard and are (probably) for the most part fine

Because the ponies left on the Prime Material Plane are descended mostly from the ponies who couldn’t retreat to the Astral Plane. And a few others whose DNA explains things like alicorns and Pinkie Pie.

The other ponies retreated to the Astral Plane, thinking they were safer. They were wrong. It changed them. What we now know as the Illithids are those other ponies and their progeny.

keep in mind that the buffalo are seen inside the continent of equestria (near appleloosa),the griffons and dragons are on a peninsula not far to the east, looking at a map of the Chernobyl radiation spread, it seems to have only been in lethal doses in near pirpyat, if the mega-spells gave off the same amount of radiation, only a few hundred miles in one direction would have been hit, assuming that the wind is blowing east than the griffon kingdom and dragon lands suffered minor radiation damage, not nearly the same amount as in the blast radius its self, the radiation could not have spread much further in the same amounts, (yes i know that the radiation from the Chernobyl disaster spread across the entirety of Europe, but you would not even measure 10 rads in a country like Spain, yes it would be there, but it would not effect you).

The discourse over magic and origins of the ponies aside (which for reference I’m holding to an oppinion I and some others in a CK2 modding project hold where we believe the region of the Crystal Empire or that general area are the origins of pones, at the furthest possible location) it might be said while in the strictest sense Equestria and Zebra-land were glassed, it’s very possible that the intensity of the conflict very likely yanked in other players as proxies or allies of either party, and even if they didn’t get hit directly the effects of the war itself and the launch of magical weapons that actually leave behind a lingering magical radiation in the atmosphere got pretty hard hit too.
 
To call on reference from the story itself, a Memory Orb to a very early stage in the conflict (Celestia-period) has the Mane 6 embarking on a diplomatic mission to the Buffalo to get assurances they’ll back Equestria or at the very least not support the Zebra. The Zebra too are known to have involved the dragons and the Griffons on their side, if at least as significant mercenary support.
 
The range of the confrontation is widened too depending on whatever side-fics you want to bite. Heroes explores the war in independent Caladonia and how while it was officially neutral it was all the same the sight of a war with Zebra-backed Minotaurs, and that during the war the Ministries were very much active there as much as they were in Equestria. So much so the nation still got glassed.

this is something that i quickly wrote down a few weeks ago regarding my pseudo-science about magic
 
“magic” as most creatures know of it is a term used to describe a group of specialized leptons that exist outside of our own reality
 
the first type of these leptons is the alpha or “fire” particle  
these particles can when applied through the use of magic can set fire to things that these particles interact with, they cause objects to release photons of heat and with only a few thousand particles of fire magic the object undergoes spontaneous combustion.
 
the second is beta or “water” particles, water particles can rapidly absorb photons of heat and therefore cool mater on contact, this results in the vapor in normal air being condensed into water when beta particles come in contact.
 
the third is the tau or “force” particle, force particles are the most abundant in the extra-dimensional space where magic comes from and the second most abundant in our universe, force particles are used by mages to construct barriers pure force and to manipulate mater indirectly by applying kinetic energy to said matter, powers such as telekinesis, earth bending, air bending, flight, and many other common arcane arts have been caused by the use of tau particles.
 
next is kyo or “strange” particles, strange is used to change the properties of matter such as turning lead to gold, kyo particles can change all properties of an object including its color, its shape, size, and even chemical makeup, this power is primarily used by alteration magic and by shapeshifters.
 
next is phi or “pure” magic, this is raw magic energy, pure magic acts like normal mater when in a plasma form except unlike plasma (which can be controlled by magnetism) phi can be controlled like any other magic particle… with biology and the mind.
 
next is gamma or “wave” particles, wave can be used to control the entire electromagnetic spectrum of photons, used in illusionary magic, used to manipulate light, color, radiation, radio, and magnetism.
 
finally is hyria, the most mysterious and powerful forms of magic, it is called by many names, life force, destiny, spiral energy, HP, Health, waaagh, and the force, hyria does not follow most conventional rules of magic instead it just exists as a form of energy acting more like a mix of electrons and neutrinos rather than magic, there have been machines that have been built to use hyria instead of electricity like most normal machines, hyria is heavily tied to a creatures life and the event people know as death only occurs when all of the hyria has been removed from somethings body, hyria is also tied to emotion and people who feel strong emotions will find that they gain hyria at a faster rate and therefore are harder to kill, physically stronger, have more control over magic, have more magic energy, and are supremely powerful.

To my knowledge the pink cloud is based on the red stuff around the Sierra Madre in NV’s dead money. I don’t really know though as i don’t have that dlc

Edit: it is a stretch; we have much better computers and rocketry than fallout (even as of the late cold war) and even if we needed to we do not have off-world mining. Plus coal and oil are biotic, so you need long-dead aliens for those

Well, it was a resource war, which would affect everyone dependent on it. In fallout it was petroleum (thus leading to the tapping of Alaskan oil fields and thus all battles in Alaska/Canada), and in Fo:E it was coal, which sparked the initial conflict.
