My Little Joycon: Switching is Magic

The Mane 7, and Derpy decided to have some fun as Nintendo Switch characters. How is Breath of The Wild btw?

For a year isn’t bad, if that’s the case.

I just hope Nintendo doesn’t go the “Sony” route, and make more expenses, and such. The prices for the Switch controllers are already ridiculously expensive. (Is “Rumble HD” that expensive to make? I’d rather not have that if it means charging $80 a controller.)
At least with WiiU you could use your Wii controllers, and such with it making multiplayer more convenient.

I heard it was going to be $20 a month. Hopefully, it won’t be that expensive. (Even free monthly VC game rentals that they’re promising aren’t worth that much.)

The price for online hasn’t been confirmed yet. A price range was mentioned for Japan but prices can vary between countries.

>No backwards compatible games/controllers

I honestly don’t think they were planning to support the Wii/Gamecube controllers directly anymore due to the new structure of the console

>expensive controllers and accessories

That’s the consequence of extra hardware in the accessories

>Paid online

It’s pretty much cheaper than Sony and Microsoft at like 20-30$ a year.(Although free online would obviously be preferable)

>No VC

Nintendo does have VC planned for the Switch

>No video apps

Given that the Switch had a soft launch in order to release BotW on it, it kinda makes sense why there wouldn’t be any(Nintendo kinda knows and plans to release extra updates for the Switch in order to put in missing features)

>no internet browser

See above

>No Miiverse

That place kinda became a trainwreck pretty quickly and Nintendo didn’t want to keep that platform and probably plan to design a new ‘Miiverse’

The Nintendo Switch was a soft launch in order to capitalize sales on BotW and Nintendo is adding extra features later on, so keep an eye out.

After third-parties saying something similar about previous Nintendo systems, and promising to support them, (CoughEACough) it’s kinda hard to trust such statements. Even WiiU had alot of third-party support at first, (even getting some games previously only available for rival systems like “Assassin’s Creed,” “Batman Arkham,” and such) then it quickly dwindled.

I didn’t buy a Switch at launch due to the launch games not really grabbing my interest, and the games I was interested in being released later, but I do plan on getting it eventually after a good amount of games have been released on it.

I remember something about third party developers considering the Switch easier to work with than the Wii U, which gets me excited to see what games the Switch will eventually get. Having stuff like Tekken 7, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Dragon’s Dogma, and the Dark Souls games ported to the Switch would be pretty badass, not to mention potential new games like Bayonetta 3 (if that was announced as a Switch launch game, I would’ve pre-ordered the console in a heartbeat), Monster Hunter V, and a new Soulcalibur game.

I thought I spotted a quick flash of a Proto Man/Tuxedo Mask/Meta Knight/Alvis-type character in the first trailer, but I may be remembering someone from something else, ’cause I do that, lol.

Yeah, I might get one some day, once more better games come out for it.

“Arms” actually looks pretty good, and it’s nice to see a new quirky fighting game, and another new IP. Most are too gritty nowadays.
I hope Splatoon 2 offers more better offline modes.

It does, I don’t get the hate over it, as I genuinely enjoyed WiiU, and it’s so-called “gimmicky” controller. (Yet, nobody’s calling that Playstation VR headset “gimmicky.”) Which was honestly more like a normal controller then the Wii-mote was. (And developers really didn’t take advantage of it’s microphone, touchscreen, and camera.) My only critique of it was there wasn’t very many good ways to store data on it, and you can’t use the Wii-mote for Netflix.

Though, it’s a bit much saying “nobody bought it” as over 13 million WiiU units have been sold, which isn’t too bad, and it’s been said it’s software sales have been very very impressive. So it wasn’t a “complete failure.”

Honestly, I’m not very excited about the Switch yet. (No backwards compatible games/controllers, expensive controllers & accessories, paid online, no VC, no video aps, no internet browser, no Miiverse, ect. It honestly sounds like it’s doing more things wrong then the WiiU did.)
