To be fair, Thorax and Trixie both have plenty of reason to adore Starlight.
 
Discord gradually warmed up to her while they were on that quest to defeat Queen Chrysalis,  
because a chaos being would appreciate inventive outside-the-box cleverness.
 
To like her enough to want to be roomies though…  
well, he might’ve just been trolling Twilight more, anyway.
