I love the dialogue, I love the characterization. I was worried about having “another Wonderbolt story”, but it was actually pretty good and this scene is simply brilliant.

This is waaaay better than any Wonderbolt episode apart from Top Bolt. It expands on their team dynamics without being toxic and I really like Soarin in this. He’s too pure for this world.
 
Exactly my thoughts, I couldn’t agree more. The sad part is, Top Bolt was about Rainbow and Twilight helping two other ponies, and this is about Rainbow helping Soarin’. I mean, the team isn’t part of the story, and while this totally confirms that (at least some) Wonderbolts are great ponies, it still doesn’t make them a good team. Maybe it’s an exaggeration, but I’d almost say that they’re an awful team of excellent ponies.
