I do recall, an old educational “history” one where the Wright Brothers were featured, and spoke. The only time I recall seeing grown-ups in the series, though it’s not really canon, or anything. (Not that Peanuts really has one.)

He’s supposed to be kinda the loveable loser. It kinda makes his rare successes seem more awesome given the somewhat cynical nature of the Peanuts gang.
Took me a second to remember that adults don’t have speaking roles in Peanuts cartoons. Clever!
