Description
A little experiment/challenge I’m doing to see how well I can mix Kilala97 and Carnifex’s NextGen characters together. This is mostly just for fun, no need to take it too seriously.
Kilala’s characters are the only ones here because according to Carnifex, his version of her wouldn’t have any children… at least not for a long time…
Parents:
Mothers: Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer.
Fathers: Flash Sentry (Pony and Human).

History:
In the human world, Sunset and Flash had rekindled their relationship and got married a while after their graduation. Flash eventually became a Police Officer to support his family after Sunday was born, unfortunately he died in the line of duty during a bank heist. Grief-stricken, Sunset returned to Equestria with her daughter (who became an earth pony as a result). Twilight and her husband Flash allowed her to live in the castle where she began work as an assistant.
Flash and Twilight helped Sunset move on and the three bonded over studying magic with Twilight, sharing stories with the couple about events and adventures they’d had in both worlds, and even having a sparring sessions with Flash. As time went on Sunset grew closer to the loving couple, to the point where their friendship turned into romance, which soon escalated into “special sessions” between the three. Eventually, with a bit of “all-night convincing” for Flash (as well as Twilight going through several law books before successfully legalizing polygamous marriage), she and Flash agreed to an open relationship and welcomed Sunset into their family, and a few months later Sunshine was born.
Afterwards Sunset discovered she had a knack for combat magic, to the point where she decided that her talents were suited better in the Royal Guard. She joined and eventually became the second in-command under, out-ranked by Flash himself due to experience.
As Sunray grew older she slowly bonded with Starburst, thought needed some time to adjust to living in a new world as well as getting to know her “second father” (though a small part of her was bitter that her mother had dragged her to another world), she eventually mellowed out after Sunshine was born, and even more so when Night Light came into their lives…
(Special note: The human Twilight eventually married Timber Spruce, but due to certain “complications” they required a donor, Sunset offered to help and human Flash [prior to his death] volunteered for the procedure. As a result Starburst [and later Night Light Jr.] exists in the human world as well)

You don’t have to alter your work to accommodate for me and my joke, but I guess it does make it less ambiguous now.

As for growing closer Flash bonded with her over study which is separate from the mention of Twilight and her developing feelings, meaning they didn’t. So he befriended her while the three of them started spending time together and she seduced his wife and then had her “convince” him to put up with it. Dunno what her joining the Guards have anything with him still being a cuck, he might be her boss but she’s still fucking his wife and he’s still helping raider their kid.
So yeah, as far as my joke goes he is cucked. There’s probably more to the story but the limited amount of “facts” in the story allows to make that joke.
There actually is an indication they all grew closer in the description, specifically this part:
Flash accepted Sunset into the family, so she wasn’t exactly “shoved into hos life”, nor did he just “put up with it”.
I’m not trying to take it too seriously, I’m simply explaining the facts of what happened, because they way you phrase it makes it come off as if Flash in just the whipping boy who gets cheated on, which is not the case.
Also, you seem to have missed this part:
So basically he’s not exactly being shoved to the side for someone else. Both of them are on-duty and help raise the kids when they can, not to mention Night Light Jr. is stated to have been born sometime after Sunshine was. So no, he isn’t cucked as you put it.

You’re really taking that offhand joke seriously, aren’t you ? But ok, if we’re going to guess what the situation looks like from the short description: there’s no indication of Equestrian Flash having any relationship with Sunset, nor is he mentioned as “joining the studying sessions” and the child is clearly marked as not his. His wife had a “friend” on the side and one day it turns out that this person is more than a friend that is then shoved into his life and marriage. He’s married with two children and then his wife starts sleeping with another person and they even have a child, be it through adoption or magic.
Also you’re probably thinking of NTR and not cucking because the latter does not usually involve cheating or dumping, in simplest terms it’s one of the people in a relationship getting more partners while the other person puts up with it. He’s the captain of raising his wife’s daughter and being out on duty while Twilight is fucking someone else.
Whose to say she didn’t let him join their “study session” that lead to Sunshine’s conception? Plus, all that “convincing” took up most of the night, getting cucked would only work in this context if she ether cheated on him or dumped him outright.
And considering he’s also captain on the Ponyville guard and married to the Princess and technically Sunset, I doubt his dignity got chucked in any way.

But honestly it’s a joke, don’t read too much into it.
I couldn’t agree more. I never meant for Flash to be replaced in any way. In this universe Flash and Twilight still genuinely love eachother, they simply share the same feelings with Sunset. And HumanFlash isn’t being replaced, Sunset still loves him and cherishes the time they had together.
Flash can become a good hero as a villain if you give this character a chance
Where does it say that Twilight “chucked” him? They agreed to an open relationship, they still love eachother, so in what way did Twilight “chuck” him?
