A strong hoof to the face would be worth it to receive an intimate kiss from Limestone Pie. I have to say this comic series has made me really like Limestone, because of the way the artist has written her.

Yes; if we assume this chain of speculation about Twilight’s involvement to be correct, she would indeed have been an active participant.
 
So we’ve got an equal chance of either happening. Easiest solution would be to ask Pencils.

How?
I just checked, and there’s no indication I can discern that Twilight actually did anything beyond technical instruction (learned from books, of course) and providing ideas on, err, shall we say, enhancing the experience. Also, egging Mascara on, probably, and “motivating” her with Want-It-Need-It…
I’m sure Twilight found the whole ordeal very “fascinating” herself, but I see no reason to assume she participated.
