The patch, the pill, and the gum just don’t have the same effect because they replace nicotine but not the actual habit of smoking. Vaping does the job better, and you can combat your addiction one step at a time rather than taking it on all at once. It’s much easier. Ecigs (and by that I mean cigalikes) aren’t as effective because they just aren’t good devices.

It’s not professionally tested or proven because nobody wants it to be besides vapers. Take it from r/vaping, plenty of people leave vaping behind because they’ve successfully quit and moved on after no other replacement therapy has worked for them. In groups on Facebook you see people selling all of their equipment because there’s no need for it anymore, they’re done smoking, they’re off nic, and that was their goal.

Me, personally? I started to avoid getting ON the cigs. Nothing turns you off faster, trust me. And after a year and a half, I’ve experienced none of the I’ll effects smokers describe after just a few months of cigs. So, even if you are just replacing cigs and don’t plan on quitting vaping, it’s a vast improvement.

you… you don’t synthesize nicotine. you grow tobacco, and refine the nicotine that grows naturally from it. that’s what those labs do.

though I do see something in 2016 where one company started using synthesized nicotine, I’m pretty sure tobacco companies have been opposed to vaping for a lot longer than 2016.

and no, vaping is not a “great” way to quit smoking. vaping is a better way to quit smoking than continuing on cigarettes, but there are much more effective methods than vaping. “nicotine replacement therapies” have a rigorous approval process by which you have to prove that your treatment will reliably reduce someone’s nicotine dependence. just your average e-cigarette isn’t nearly as tested, proven, or effective.

2040 here

I’m assuming by “nicotine” you mean “e liquid.” But, either way you look at it - neither e liquid nor diluted nicotine are sold by big tobacco. Diluted nicotine is sold by labs who synthesize or extract it, and e liquid are sold by individually run companies - being a heavy vaper, I know many owners of these companies, and they are in no way affiliated with any tobacco companies.

A big part of the reason government restrictions are being so harsh on vaping as of late is actually because of just how much money tobacco companies are losing because of the movement. Because the tobacco companies are losing profits, the government is losing tobacco settlement money, and everything goes to shit.

And being able to control the nic level in e liquid is essentially why vaping is such a great way to quit smoking. Yes, you’re just switching to vaping, but by going down to nic level until you hit 0, you’ve essentially reached a point where you’re engaging in a hobby you can put down and quit because you’re bored of it. And many people do.

well, big tobacco sells nicotine to be used in vaporizers, so it kinda does have a lot to do with them. it’s also not all that great as a quit smoking program: you’re just switching to vaping, not actually getting off nicotine. (it’s a way better way to quit than smoking cigarettes though.)

the reason I think they hate vaping is because people can control how much nicotine is in their vaporizer. cigarette companies do things like increase the nicotine content of their cigarettes whenever anti-smoking legislation is on the ballot, and being able to control your own dosage takes that power away from them.

Are you kidding? Vaping is HATED by the smoking industry, specifically because it’s the best way to quit and has nothing to do with big tobacco. And it’s not perfectly harmless, but no, it’s definitely not as bad as smoking and has actually pretty much none of the secondhand properties.

Vaping was heavily marketed by the smoking industry. The product is a pure marketing sham that attempts to rebrand vaping as the healthier alternative even when the products are barely different to one another.

Inhaling smoke will always be unhealthy and you’d think that would be an obvious statement, but here we are.

So wait, e-cigs also generate second-hand smoke hazards? That just makes them a more expensive version of cigarettes! God damn it. I’m glad I don’t spend time around smokers, much less hipster smokers.

Now that I’ve seen it, I’m not at all surprised that ZB vapes. At all.
