She doesn’t really need help with the fans of cute, so as much as Colgate would add popularity, it wouldn’t add popularity with different voters. Moondancer offers nothing but the ability to step in with no visible changes if Twilight dies in office, but Twilight needs no help with the stability vote. Starlight Glimmer is similar, but even less stable, and other than knowing Twilight’s death would almost certainly result in Vice-Favorite Trixie being swiftly appointed, she offers little that Moondancer doesn’t. And her history as an evil dictator hurts her in an election. So yeah, Spike. He works well with her, proven, and with the support of Princess Dragon Lord Ember, having Spike as a running mate would get her the Dragon vote. ALL OF THE DRAGON VOTE!!!
