I knew sooner or later I would have to endure seeing a High-Definition version of this scene.
Even now, just looking at it makes me feel queasy and want to throw up, seeing the Princesses like that compared to just Celestia back in A Canterlot Wedding.
@Dr Outback
More like creepy. As if seeing Celestia stuck in a cocoon once was not bad enough, seeing it again alongside Luna, Cadance, and the others, along with Chrysalis having apparently become more psychotic and evil than ever, only makes it ten times worse.
@thps48
Sounds legit to me. If she was able to burrow through the throne’s anti-magic barrier just long enough to warn Starlight before it reasserted itself, that explains her zoned out state in the cocoon there when Chrysalis makes her appearance while Celestia and Cadance are still fast asleep.
@SuperSonic15
Indeed. As it seemed the nullification effect was too strong for her to dream walk for only a few seconds (in dream time, y’know how time is during dreams, lol), but contain a minor imperfection Luna was able to tunnel through before her energy gave way. How the laws of magic or spiritual energy and dreams interact in games and animation is nearly always abstract. Especially if one adds Inception to that list. ;3
Maybe that answers why her eyes are still open and looking all zoned out while the others are struggling to wake up or can’t at all. Remember when she tried to contact Starlight? Could have been during her attempts to warn Starlight in the dream world that her magic was blocked and left her in that zoned out state.
Would explain why she’s fully awake, rushing to her sister’s aid, and helping her back to her hooves while Celestia and everyone else are still trying to come to themselves after being freed from the cocoons.
@Phantom Rider
She wasn’t the only one. Celestia twitches her hoof as well as Chrysalis reveals herself and plants her hooves on Celestia and Luna’s cocoons for support.
Trust me, the way they look right there, it’s just unbearable wondering if they were still asleep when they were kidnapped and cocooned like that.
@SeraphimDawn
That would really be creepy, especially considering how I felt when I first laid eyes on this scene with the Royal Family and Elements of Harmony stuck in those cocoons. It was like seeing Celestia stuck in one from A Canterlot Wedding again, but only ten times worse.
@SeraphimDawn
Since the boss fight is mainly a one-on-one fight against Starlight and Chrysalis, I can see Thorax as a non-playable party member who tries to fend off the other Changelings.
@Red-Supernova
Imagine the chills it’d send down the spine of first time players when they enter Chrysalis’s lair and the first thing the players are shown are the Changelings’ victims trapped inside those cocoons with Chrysalis crawling into the scene before the boss battle.
A Chrysalis boss fight would also involve a ton of swarm minion trash mobs Chrysalis sends to attack the players.
@Red-Supernova
Sounds good, and it would’ve made sneaking around and/or freeing everyone from the cocoons a little easier than waiting for it to happen with the destruction of Chrysalis’ throne.
@SeraphimDawn
As someone who likes to RPG-ify moments from the show, the Changeling Hive definitely felt like it was built to be like an RPG (or Zelda) dungeon.
@SeraphimDawn
So the heroes would mostly have to use stealth to get around the hive. But they aren’t completely screwed if they get caught and enter a battle, Thorax can still use his magic to fight and buff his allies.
I was also thinking that one of the items the party could find would be an equip item for Starlight that allows her to use her magic again, but with a 50% chance of working.
