Honestly the design is pretty gaudy. Maybe it’ll grow on me eventually.

Reformed changelings, I could accept it, few tweaks (begone stupid tail) tone colours down a bit and it’s okay, but Thorax… Oh poor Thorax, what did they do to you. A bad pony creator OC. Amazing.

As soon as Thorax started changing, I was expecting a Princess Thorax. Not far off. I’d be fine if just Thorax looked like that, but all of them… Well, we’ll just have to hope that the changelings don’t show up often in S7 onwards although Chrysalis was somehow not reformed, so it’s inevitable

When you put it like that, it’s like a light summary of Conker’s Bad Fur Day XD

I don’t particularly like the antlers part of it, but the design isn’t terrible. I wish they would have kept more of the blue in the colour scheme since it was so integral to how they looked, and it feels a bit cluttered with so many colours and additional details. I think they were going for fairy-like in the design. It’s nice, even if they look almost nothing like the old changlings.

At least the Mane 6 can change back. The “love-lings”, as far as I know, are stuck like that.

All aside this is a small improvement to everything, much more preferable to the Mane 6’s Rainbow Forms.

I can see why the changelings prefer being evil over…that

Theory: The black, magic draining, stone was responsible for the majority of the Changeling race problem. It was slowly draining their magic making them unable to full process the love they collected. Thorax started to change once he left the hive, he and the rest of the colony only changed when the stone was destroyed. Chrysalis, having spent the most time in direct contact with the stone, may have been so stunted that she may never fully process love.

A thorax is the name of a section of insects; the three sections are head, thorax, and abdomen.
 
By the way, I just realized that “King Head” and “King Abdomen” would make hilarious changeling names. :D

I don’t like his new design, but I don’t hate it to a degree. And the reactions from this are nothing short of hilarious. XD

Maybe before their transformation, they found regular food repulsive as opposed to raw love, kinda like ghouls with flesh in Tokyo Ghoul.
 
Perhaps they’re capable of a pony’s diet now.

This is still moronic and taking away everything that made the changelings cool and interesting and only happened to elevate Starlight Glimmer to “more important than anyone. Twilight never did anything like this.”

Not to mention - as I stated in my last post - it makes sense, because Imagos are basically the final stage of an insect’s evolution, and the changelings, now no longer needing to subsist on love, have reached that point themselves.

Well, the changelings do have bug related names (Thorax, Chrysalis) and the babies are (unofficially?) called “nymphs”. I’d say they’re quite buggish. :D

The Site Moderator said it should imply “Changeling” too. And aren’t Imago is a name of bug? I don’t think it nice to call them by bug name all alone since they are half pony too.
 
Who know Equestria might already have Imago as nature bug in their world too.
