You do do know faust envisioned dash doing alot more adventure stuff right? “Big adventure” is even her part of the opening song.  
The show was supposed to have alot more adventure than slice of life in faust’s original pitch, just hasbro wanted it more SOL. Nothing wrong with SOL, but dash was really setup for going out on more actiony stuff than she gets.

There’s some kind of double standard where if a male and female are together it’s romantic but if it’s male/male or female/female they’re “just friends”.

The synopsis says “Rainbow Dash travels to a remote and dangerous location…”, but nobody says a thing…  
Then it says “Soarin is about to undertake a dangerous mission…”, and nobody panics…  
But when they say “Rainbow Dash and Soarin will be together”, THEN EVERYONE LOSES THEIR MINDS!!!

No it doesn’t, slice of life stuff fits her character perfectly. That’s always been the primary focus of MLP. Slice of life includes scenes like friends spending time together having fun, and all sorts of other things because it’s a pretty big umbrella term.
 
That being said, I do agree that it’s cool to see some adventure stuff thrown in too, as it can be mixed in for interesting effect. MLP’s focus is the more everyday stuff, but it mixes in the fantasy and adventure elements in a way that feels fairly unique.

Forget the shipping, I just like seeing Rainbow Dash being used for adventure stories. It suits her character better than SoL and it’s something she should be getting more of in the show.

Is this the thread where we talk about how awful [ship] is and that [some other ship]|[condemning shipping] is the better option?

I think that’s probably because there is likely more of them in this fandom, not that they’re necessarily more vicious about it. But who knows, I probably need to spend less time worrying about whatever silly nonsense some shippers are saying, not more.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I know F/F and M/M shippers do it too, but there’s definitely a big element of M/F interaction being asserted as shipping when it’s not.

Aaaaah, no, it’s not, because, in this fandom, everyone will ship anyone and everyone, and everything, genders don’t matter ages don’t matter, species don’t matter, it doesn’t even have to be ALIVE, it will be shipped. I personally find lesbian shippers to be the worst here in comparison to straight shippers, some people purposely go out of their way to make characters NOT be shipped straight (yes sometimes m/m ships get this too, but far far less) and while your gripes are not unheard of or necessarily wrong, it would be a great ignorance to not even mention the fact that any shipper can do this. I’ve seen people assert that Rarijack is canon, I’ve seen people assert that FLuttercord is canon, it doesn’t matter the genders of the characters involved.

You have to admit that the minority that heralds any male and female character interaction as somehow being proof of shipping or something is terribly annoying though. I agree that people should ship and learn to agree to disagree about what their favorite ships are, or if someone likes shipping and someone else doesn’t.
 
But those I’m referring to are inherently asserting that it’s a fact that it’s canon, and that you’re wrong if you disagree, all the while referring to content that frankly only features friendship. I guess you can just ignore them, but it’d certainly be nice if they were more reasonable.
 
They’re a small minority, but if shippers have a poor reputation in a fandom, you can probably point to people looking at their poor attitude about it, and then choosing to generalize unfairly.

This. The comics can be good (and also bad, I’d call them very much a mixed bag in that regard), and I pay attention to them sometimes, but not canon.

I haven’t been keeping up with that, but surely within the next few months. There’s certainly a delay between these being announced and being released, but the delay isn’t usually huge as far as I know.

I don’t know anything about the comics, when will this be released?

I love Soarindash, but there are a lot of other popular ships I can’t stand. As long as people don’t insult anyone else, people can agree to disagree with whatever ships they want.
