Hhhhhuh. Well, whether it was inspired or not, after I cursory skim I don’t know if I’d say it’s based off this.

Yeah, I mean I can’t help but go “An EF-2 wouldn’t put a dent in a nuclear plant” and stuff like that. It’s really hard to have a nuclear plant have a major accident due to a tornado unless it was an EF-5 at least. I’d have to look at the EF scale and see.
 
I don’t think many people are going to care if NWS operations and nuclear plant operations are accurate in a pony fanfic unless they’re nerds like me. The focus of the story isn’t about that.

I have a lot of feedback to give on how tornado warnings works and how a nuclear power plant built from concrete and steel can fare against an EF-2 tornado.
 
But this is just me being a weather nerd (M.Sc meteorology) nitpicking a fanfic about magical equines.

Not much differently than anything else. You just switch to plural pronouns and doing most of the work partway through.

Good lord, you go to sleep and everything explodes. More info seems like it’d be a fun thing. I’ll get something compiled. Gonna want to draw up some little thing to go with it, so I guess watch out for that? I know, I’m lame. For now though:

She’s an old RP character of mine from back in 2013, and I suppose I meant more how often she got used in that whole mess. And to be fair this isn’t the first picture of her, though it is the first decent one, and the only one on Derpibooru. I feel like uploading my own stuff would be kinda gauche so there’s not much here. Also, while I’m not sure why Barhandar’s linking the Neverhood thing, that is one of my old drawings. Either way, this pic isn’t a re-upload. ‘s new.

Porn Logic’s/Magic probably the best answer, but lemmie break it down. There’s a little bit of unseen hardware behind her snoot. The inside of her mouth sorta has a sleevey thing going on with a small valve at the back. You can talk in her relatively easily, but it’s going to be a bit muffled/garbled for obvious reasons. Think talking with a ziploc baggie sucked in. (Don’t actually do this, please.) This is one of the things they didn’t have time to figure out how to fix before the project shut down. Fume’s speech is from one of the many enchantments that allow her to exist as she is. If she needs to speak while she’s on someone, she’ll just work their jaw while she’s talking. She doesn’t technically need to do that, but she doesn’t like to. It just ‘feels weird’ to speak without moving her lips and whatnot. Also, just to pander for a bit, yes, this means she could keep your mouth shut and still if she needed to.
 
To be clear, the things embedded in her cheeks are filters, not speakers. (Though that is a neat idea.) There are channels built into the inside of her hood to make sure there’s a passage for air to move between an occupant’s nostrils and her filters, even if it’s a tight fit.
 
Funfact: She almost got a heavy-duty redesign earlier this year. Thicker eye lenses without irises, Larger filter cartridges more akin to what you’d see on an actual gas mask, no mouth opening, etc. In the end I felt like it cost her too much visual personality, and it didn’t make a lot of sense ‘in canon’. I’ve got a junky little sketch on a sticky note somewhere. If I can find it I’ll throw it on my FA scraps or something.

I’m not saying she HAS speakers, she’s not mine, just that they’re the way she could be airtight without losing speech.
