At least it seems like Starlight holds Twilight in a higher regard, and respects her at least as a true equal.
One question I’m concerned with is if Starlight is willing to use her magic on Twilight herself. It would say a lot how “deep” she is with the issues.
Starlight has pretty good reasons to be grateful to Twilight.
Now she just has to work on the issues that come with being a sociopathic super-mage…

Given season 6 opener, I think it’s more of respect thing.
Starlight Glimmer: I know [Spike]. But I don’t want her [Twilight] to think I’m not ready to learn or that I’m not grateful for everything she’s doing.
The messy end of Season 5 ender’s last 10 minutes aside, one of the main points to draw from it is that Starlight was fully ready and expected to be dealt a cruel hand after her “passions” so to speak rightfully taken by the six and her vendetta routed by Twilight, but wasn’t and was given the opportunity to do better.
Although it makes me wonder if she truly actually values Twilight’s opinion. Most signs point to that she does, while a select few seem to suggest she’s only using it to further validate herself.

Starlight’s posture and comment on the ‘Twilight just said’ scene are exactly like Twilight’s ‘im the best teacher’s pet’ attitude in the season 1 premiere.
