His part in the plot is actually pretty understated and in the background. It’s important to the main plot, but only as an instigator, and is rather rushed to a conclusion by the end.
Ah well. I liked him as a competent businesspony who was a fairly clueless but still decent parent, but if they needed him as a villain here, so be it.
The movie cut out most of that detail and took every chance to make him look like he got off on puting Glori in that position.
Have we learned anything more about just how “evil” Filthy really was in this movie? My understanding from what people said about the novelization is that Gloriosa took out loans from him to keep the camp running, got several chances to pay them back, blew every one, and so he decided to foreclose because she couldn’t hold up her end of it. Which may well be unpleasant for Glori, but it hardly makes him sound ‘evil’.
The film aired on TV in Brazil on Saturday.

in all honestly, that is a legitimate problem. we view things more for what we can build with them than what they provide jsut by existing.
