Exactly. Lots of people make her out to be some vengeful harpy, and that.. just isn’t Rarity. If she were, she would’ve throttled Sweetie Belle long ago.

Well yeah, but they’re her friends and all of them have been through a lot together including saving the world. But that doesn’t mean you’re wrong about Rarity being willing to grant him forgiveness if he asked for it… she’d probably be willing to make peace, even if she didn’t like him and still wanted nothing more to do with him.

Well, that was right after he shoved her into the trajectory path of a giant flying cake though, and completely ruined her dress. Not to mention she’d already been dealing with him being an ass all night. I’m sure even Rarity has some limits.

It’s also possible that she only did that (in S&E) for the sake of maintaining appearances at whatever public event that was, instead of causing a big scene that could make her look bad. Who knows.

Very true. What he probably had to do to “earn forgiveness” was say he’s sorry. I doubt it would take more for Rarity to forgive him. After all, her friends almost ruined her career and life, and she didn’t stay mad at them!

I didn’t say it was her sole motivation, but I think it was the main thing. Not meaning it in a shallow way, like status is all she cares about, but I think for her that was the draw of the fantasy, to have a perfect fairy tale romance come true. Not necessarily for the sake of the actual relationship though, but just because she’s dramatic and a huge romantic period and she’d like to dream about that kind of thing happening to her.

No, when it is shown in Ticket Master and during At the Gala her fantasy was dominated by him being the perfect gentleman and courting her.
 
Being a princess is a plus to be sure but not her sole motivation. She had a naive view that since he is upper class he must be well mannered.

^She may be forgiving, but I doubt Blueblood would ever manage to earn such redemption. Besides, it’s doubtful she was ever really that into him anyway… she seemed to be more after his title and social status than anything.
