I did think about that whilst inking this, but the thought of Vinyl not actually meeting Octavia’s parents properly for several years amused me as well.
Also, I sense a quiet retcon of Vinyl’s introduction to the Melody madness. I got the impression that she didn’t at least meet the parents for until late high-school/college at the earliest, otherwise the assimilation into Octamum’s collective wouldn’t have been so jarring/hilarious/oddly heartwarming.
