Unlike in real life, In fiction, truth and falsehood is not a dichotomy. If something is unconfirmed, it is neither true nor false. Again, the universe that a work of fiction takes place in does not exist outside of that work of fiction, and the only things that actually exist within that Universe are things that are shown to the audience, despite any efforts to convince the audience otherwise.

This show’s universe does not exist outside of the show, anything that is not established in the show does not exist, and it is the job of the show to convince the audience otherwise. Unlike in real life, we can’t use evidence to prove things in fiction, we can only use it to speculate, and that’s what both you and OP are doing, speculating.

I keep hoping someone else will come by and join in, but since that’s not happening: At the end of the episode, Thorax talked about eventually going home in order to teach the changelings how to live off the love generated by being good to each other; if that were something known to be impossible, I doubt he would have brought that up.

They clearly can’t get love from each other that’s pretty obvious, the ponies were not likely to accept them her invasion was an attempt to take over that much I am not denying but it wasn’t just to take power it was to make it so they could feed freely without having to worry about getting caught and effectively gaining a permanent food source taking control and being in charge is just a bonus that came with it, why ask for a resource you will likely be denied of when you can just take it? Humans through out history and still to this day invade countries for resources that does not make that country evil especially if they are desperate.

Funny how The Other Candidate is almost always a corrupt and/or power-hungry individual out to enrich themselves at the expense of the country and anyone who disagrees with them, yet Queen Chrysalis must be a misunderstood leader who cares for her subjects and only invaded out of desperation or else it’s horrible writing.
