Note the chains forming an “X” around the boulder. Now note the double chains going left-right. Only one of those pairs are around the boulder, the other goes from the lock to the manacles on the griffons. It’s a little more obvious on Greta.
i imagined a story for this, Gida and Greta are testing a time travel spell for some extra money and get accidentally sent to the distant past. To a time where griffons and ponies were at war and they become prisoners of war (slaves).
