the company is actually pretty lenient as far as companies go
It says a lot that a former Hasbro VP– whose position’s interaction with almost any other series would primarily have consisted of being a no-fun hardass– is now a writer on the show, and turning out some damn good episodes.

She wrote Cadance as a princess; the thing she wasn’t aware of until after she’d left the show was them making Cadance an Alicorn.
Everybody wants a villain to boo at, but the fact of it is there just is no “IT HAPPENED BECAUSE ___” like the fandom wants there to be; it was a lot of different things piling up until she wasn’t able to keep going with it.
